The number one question people ask me about astrology is Sun-sign compatibility: is this sign compatible with that sign? Popular guides give lists of the best and worst Sun signs for you based on your own Sun sign - and as you may have noticed, those lists don't work! Sun-sign compatibility doesn't work because the Sun describes someone's outward personality and says little about what they look for in a partner. To accurately determine compatibility, you need (at the very least) to use the Moon as well as the Sun; and that's what this test does. It's still an approximation, but you may be surprised at how well it sometimes works.
To use the test: enter your and the other person's birth date and time as numbers only, with four-digit years, 24-hour time, and time zone, then submit the form. To make the zone selection easier I've flagged the standard North American time zones and those of a few places from which I get a lot of Web site visits. See the time zones article in Wikipedia for more information.
Contact the test author by email.
Entered birth data is not retained. The server does log HTTP transactions including referrers, etc., according to standard World Wide Web practices. The "user-contributed link" feature records (and makes visible to other users) the Sun and Moon signs along with the entered URL, which are enough to narrow the birth date down to about two days per year (different days in different years) but do not indicate the year. For any jurisdictions that may require such a statement, astrological information on this site is provided for entertainment purposes only.

the moon sighns were inacurate, but delighted there is no age required. There are many young people who are interested in astrology, i don't think it's fair that an age limit is sometimes required, good work.

How do you mean "inaccurate" - does it give a compatibility score you disagree with? Or does it actually calculate the wrong moon sign for a given birth date and time? If it's actually calculating the wrong moon sign, I'd suggest first of all that you check you really have the time and time zone correct, and then if it's still calculating wrong, please email me (mskala@ansuz.sooke.bc.ca) with the time/date you're using and what you think the moon sign ought to be. I'd like to make the script get it right!

I wish this went more in-depth. :( Does anyone know more or can they direct me to where I can find more on virgo-moon and cancer-sun compatibility? This is all I have ever found.

If you want a simple interpretation done automatically, the best free online resource you're likely to find would be astro.com's chart system:
http://www.astro.com/horoscopes/ahor.asp
For more detailed analysis you pretty much have to either pay for it, or learn astrology yourself and do your own interpretation. One resource you may find useful for the latter is Bob Marks's series of online lessons. He has several chapters on relationship astrology:
http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/TOClessons.htm
Something to remember is that there are 144 possible combinations of Sun sign and Moon sign, so writing a complete set of analyses for them is an effort equivalent to writing an entire book, and that's just for Sun-sign/Moon-sign which is by itself barely enough to get a meaningful answer at all anyway. So it's not easy to find time to write ready-made interpretations for a system like this one, especially if it's not going to be paid work.

Hi,
I have a hard time configuring my moon sign. I was born June 29th 1980 at 3:34pm. Some books and sites I've read say that I fall under a Capricorn moon, and other say an Aquarian moon. I've noticed it's a thin line between when they changed. I do belive atrology to be pretty good at describing people to a degree, and i'e noticed I fit most Aquarian attributes than Capricorn. How do I find out for sure which Moon sign I fall under at my time of birth?

Hi, Matthew,
Your quiz puts your parents' compatability at 6.3. Guess there must be something else that has kept us together for over 37 years.
Love, Mom

I have sites that offer detailed compatibility reports with ratings and everything. I'll also give you all the ones with natal chart descriptions and daily horoscopes. I have everything from Chinese Astrology to Numerology and Vedic Astrology. These are all links that i have found...but that sadly don't see distributed all that much. It's actually sort of a good thing because since astro.com is so popular they have taken advantage of the mass amount of daily visitors to make only a very small part of the site free. Take advantage of these small sites because they ahve something that site, for example, doesn't have ..quality, but most importantly..free quality! lol. Here they are:

Ironically, it posits that I'm rather closely compatible with Matt. Sorry Matt, you're not my kinda guy. Mostly because, well, you're a guy. No offense - I know a lot of people in the modern era are insulted by such insinuations.
In other news, this is a rather interesting, if "down-and-dirty" application. The use of the sun/moon sign connection is especially useful - I get really sick of the "all sun, all the time" dealy-bobbers. One interesting touch to this is that some types of people, according to the test, are innately attracted to people more like themselves and some less so, leading one to conclude (faith and begorrah) that attraction to people more like one's self might not always be an issue of narcissism.
In other words - positive feedback all around. Yay!

to beth skala. This particular test although a refreshing change of pace from most sites is only a touch of true divination. You see in order to truly assess a person or pair of people all forms of divination must be taken into account. For example birth year<chinese zodiac> has traits, birth month has traits, take these traits and begin adding them like an algebraic equation so that similar traits multiply in strength and opposing traits diminish strenth, also take into account birth place and time down to the exact city, also take into account palmistry, numerology, your name, your akashic records, your ascendant records, pay close attention to sun moon and ascendant signs having some of the strongest effects over a person.
