#749: Free as in not

Jen: I'm having trouble with this "GNU/Phone" you sold me. I thought you said it was freely modifiable.
Tux: Yes, under the Gnu Fone Democratic License.

Jen: Well, I tried to change the ring tone, and it didn't work.
Tux: Did you encode it to Ogg format? The new GNU/Phone doesn't play deprecated file formats.

Jen: Yes, and it plays, but no matter what I do it always plays the first five bars of the Free Software Song before the ring tone I chose.
Tux: I suggest you re-read subsection 4G of the license agreement, on Invariant Sections and Cover Texts.

This may be the world's most scathing critique on the GFDL. Awesomeness.

Hey, look, it's Chris Cunningham.

Ironically, I just watched a bunch of videos (Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, and Portishead, namely) directed by him.

...

And this is why Wikipedia doesn't *really* use the GFDL.

This strip, strip #747, and probably the current "dreams" storyarc on Ozy and Millie, all combined to give me a strange dream.

It was about an "open source" airline, FARK. The storyline of the dream centered around an employee who took a day off when he wasn't supposed to... and nobody could punish him.

Seriously.
