This evening I'll be on the bus to Ottawa. I'm attending the Ottawa Linux Symposium, mostly to visit with my Ook Brothers. Unfortunately, the conference is scheduled right on top of the G-8 summit protests. The organizers of said protests have refused to condemn violence, and a lot of folks are boycotting them as a result. The above link is to an interview with Russell McOrmond, one of my copyright contacts, (they spelled his name wrong in the article) about the protests and violence and so on.
Brother Recruiter of the Edifying Fellowship has promised a full week of drunken wenching, in Ottawa and nearby Hull, but I'm not sure he has fully realised yet that we're basically going on vacation in a war zone. So it sounds like I'll probably get drunk, laid, tear-gassed, beaten, stoned (with pot), pepper-sprayed, stoned (with stones), trampled, and arrested. (Hi, Mom! Just kidding about getting drunk!) Anyway, I may have a chance to post something from the conference, but you shouldn't count on any updates until I'm back, probably July 1 or 2.
