Sub-lethal tactical game: Busload of schoolgirls accidentally drives within range of a dimensional rift, and tentacled horrors pour out from the other side. The idea is to work in as many anime cliches as possible, though I haven't yet figured out just where giant robots will come into the scenario.
Not released and not available. You are welcome to write in to encourage me to work more on it, but I won't hand out copies of the current half-baked GDL code. This was one of the first Xconq games I worked on, and I shelved it when I found that Xconq's scorekeeping system (which at the time only supported "you win if you wipe the other side off the map completely") was not up to the task. My complaints over that were part of the reason they handed me CVS access and said "Welcome to the team" - that's what happens in open source if you complain. Eric has much improved Xconq scorekeeping since then, so if I get around to looking at this game again I can probably make more headway with it. I've gotten interested in other projects, though, and enough other engine stuff has changed that it would probably require a fair bit of rewriting to even load properly with the current engine.
There are gameplay and balance issues, too. The winning condition for the girls is simply to leave the map as soon as possible, but because they can in general move much faster than the monsters, I need to give them either an incentive to stick around, or give the monsters a better (while still plausible) armory, or else the monsters can never win. The whole scenario also requires some care to keep it within the bounds of good taste (it is possible to argue that that line has already been crossed by the implications of the very premise), and although I haven't tested this since Eric's AI improvements, I fear the AI is going to have trouble playing the game effectively.
