A number of well-known Canadian recording artists have formed an organization to advocate for artists' actual interests in copyright, as opposed to the lies told by the record industry.  Their stated principles:  "1.  Suing Our Fans is Destructive and Hypocritical [...] 2.  Digital Locks are Risky and Counterproductive [...] 3.  Cultural Policy Should Support Actual Canadian Artists".  Sounds like a good effort; I hope they're listened to.
